Engine Simulator General Info

The General tab in the engine simulator calculation window allows you to enter the basics about the engine being simulated.

  • Cylinders
  • Bore
  • Stroke
  • Connecting rod length
  • Compression ratio
  • Idle speed
  • Redline, or maximum engine speed

In addition to using the inputs in the engine simulation, several immediate calculations are also provided.

  • Displacement
  • Cylinder area and volume
  • Piston ring length
  • Bore/stroke and stroke/bore ratios
  • Rod/stroke and stroke/rod ratios

There are also three calibration options available. This allows you to adjust the output of the simulator to match any existing engine precisely, so that further experimentation with changes are even more accurate than usual. It's another Speed-Wiz first!

Engine Simulator

After you fill out the basics on the General window, you then continue to the Intake, Exhaust, Aspiration, and Valves windows to continue specifying your engine setup.
